Every time I return home from RFW a lot of my local designer friends ask – so how is the level in Latvia?! And what do I answer. It’s actually similar to Estonia in a way that some people hold fashion dear to their heart and some do small simple collections. I guess it’s the case everywhere. And I especially wanted to put out almost full M-Couture collection on the blog to show you the inspirational side. Is it that I had the chance to view it in an awesome forgotten villa with this beautiful mirror carpet or because I met lovely designer Julia Sarydkova, dont know, but yeah I somehow felt that she’s doing what she does from the heart and that’s why I wanted to show it off :) More heart in work everybody.

Huh!

Phew. Jetlagged I am, but as Kenzolishess HMlishess is crawling closer and closer to our continent I must not rest, but give some more space to the topic right here.

What I found out during the press conference?
We had a chance to listen to the brand story and ask questions from the designers. By the info that I got and vibes that I felt, I must say that this capsule is the most hands on special treatment very much designer-based one – out of all of the designer collabs H&M has ever done, I mean these guys really do want to spread their message personally. Humberto also talked about the male audience, and was happy to say that boring times in the male fashion industry are over and guys have an equal chance to dress up just as girls do. There was a cool moment when a journalist asked Humberto about his Peru roots and wondered wether some pieces of the collection were inspired by peruvian national clothes. Both Kenzo designers Humberto and Carol were quite surprised by such a good homework and admitted that indeed this assumption is true.

Party party party!
From the video up there you will sense everything you need to sense. Express Yourself is probably spinning in all the guests heads up until this moment. Great coreography, huge amount of dancers, drum crew, positives vibes. I really can’t find better words for this, it was something out of Beyonce concert or Olympic opening show which I’ve never visited before :D The famous ambassadors and fashion crowd where not divided by vip areas and everything worked as a whole, hangout without boundaries. And of course a little afterparty show with ICE CUBE. I don’t know if the venue’s acoustics where just so good or the dudes rap is just so crisp, but I really heard and understood every word, something I usually can’t say about local rap concerts :P After the show, in the same venue, a boutiq was opened, so people started to empty it up like proper crazy shoppers. During the whole thing Kenzo designers also enjoyed themselves and danced their lovely butts off. In other wods, just my kind of party, no wonder I was invited :))

What was I wearing at the grand KENZOxH&M show? Well as Kenzo nowaday designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon talked so nicely on how they started the Opening Ceremony I totally felt the need to spend all my money on this pink unisex leather jacket, and surprise, Madis, you can wear it too! :) I also had Anna Vandel hat Gavroche from home – unfortunately in Estonia people look at it like the world coming to an end, but in NYC fashion crowd simply looooved it. I heard LOVE YOUR HAT on every corner, and not a regular corner, fashion passion party corner filled with prominent dudes and dudettes. And thank you Sanita for taking the pics!
