Olen Hattie töödesse armunud olnud praeguseks umbes igavesti. Nii kaua, et pole tema kohta isegi blogipostitust teinudki. Ju tahtsin alateadlikult Hätikest endale hoida. Kuigi ma usun, et päris paljud inimesed siiski teavad ja tunnevad ära tema töid, äkki ei vii nimega kokku, kuid näinud on kindlasti. Näiteks isegi Eestist saab osta Hattie kujundatud Triwa päikekaid, aga päris kindlasti ei tähenda see, et omatakse aimu selle illustreerija universumi haardest. Minu jaoks teeb tema töid eriliseks see, et nad pole loodud digis, vaid toorelt markeritega otse mööda paberit, nii nagu ettekujutlusvõime juhatab. Seal pole digitaalse maailma filrtrit, kiireklõpsu ja undo nuppu, kuidas mõtted tulevad nii nad jäävad. Üks kord kogusin isegi julguse kokku ja küsisin temalt instagramis mis markereid ta kasutab (üks mu lemmikuid muusaga sotsiaalmeedia interaktsioone ühes Jenna Marblesi ja Gemma Correlliga, jep :) ). Igastahes vastas ta, et kasutab POSCA vildikaid, ma asusin neid kiiruga Amazonist tellima, aga siis keegi segas vahele ja see ununeski. Aga tundub, et kui soovid saavutada sellist tumedal pinnal katvat effekti, on Posca su klemm.

I have loved Hattie for forever now. I have loved her for so long I haven’t even written one blog post about her. Almost like I wanted to keep her all to myself. I bet a lot of people have seen her work tho, it’s almost like it’s everywhere, they even sell Triwa sunglasses here in Estonia designed by Hattie, but no one even has a clue of the universe behind her. For example her work is not digital, it’s all done with markers, right on the paper, that’s why it’s so imaginative straight from the brain – it has no digital mind to filter the thoughts, no mouse over or undo button. I once even got my shit together and asked Hattie on instagram – what markers is she using. And she did answer (one of my coolest social media real person interactions along with Jenna Marbles & Gemma Correll, hehe #word). So the answer was POSCA markers, I immediately started the search for them on Amazon and something distracted me so I never ordered. Woops. But if you are looking for something that covers up dark surfaces – Posca is your man.

Anyhow I’m expressing my deepest and heaviest respects to this lady.
