Ma olen rets Melissa (eriti Vivienne Westwoodi disainide) ja Love Moschino loovija, seega on loogiline, et kui nägin NEWMOODis nii üht kui teist, siis hüüdsin JAH JAH JAH, mitte päris tänaval, pigem voodis, sest mul on sajand jutti juba nohu-köha.
Kui mikihiire valik tuli lendleva kergusega, siis värvide mõtlemine oli veits first world problem. Ihuvärv on väga kaunis, aga samas äkki nats liiga jala enda värvi, helesinine on ka väga kena, okei võtab helesinise. Moschino kotiga oli sarnane lugu, roosa – ilus, kollane – ka ilus. Selles loos veel mõõtsin üle oma fotokaamera, sest oli vajadus, et kaamera mahuks näiliselt pisukesse kotti, toimis. Ja lõpuks kollane toon tuli tuppa kuidagi nii, et mul on tunne, et see on selle suve värv ja koostöös helesiniste kingadega tekib päikese ja taeva kombo, nagu emoji.

I’m a big big fan of both Melissa (esipecially Vivienne Westwood designs) and Love Moschino, so when they arrived at the NEWMOOD I was like. Yes. When I saw the Mickey option I was like. Yes yes yes.
It was super hard to choose the tone tho, but I felt that nude was too much of my skin color, so I went with blue. With Moschino I really thought it thru and even measured my camera, the point was to get a tiny bag that can fit in my photo device + phone + moneybag = it worked. I really liked the pink color too, but yellow felt very this summer & in combination with blue shoes it’s like a sun and the clear sky emoji! Pink & blue would be too obvious as a combo.

Enne seda kui Polly Pocketi loojad otsustasid, et nukud ei tohi nii pisikesed olla, sest lapsed neelavad neid alla, oli see üks tuusemaid mänguasju üldse. Before Polly Pocket creators decided not to make teeny tiny Pollies because they were afraid of kids choking on them, it was the coolest toy in the world. An entire universe in your pocket, entire castle or a forest. I feel a thousand percent more nostalgic about Polly Pocket than about Barbies for instance. Maybe it’s because me and my sister only had 1 for two. Also I haven’t posted my crazy finds in a while and here it is. A Polly Pocket bag for grownups found in some (unknown to me) store called TruffleShuffle, must check out as I type, what are this and how to get it. Weee!

Framed by Karl ehk Karl Annus on disainer-prillimeister ja meie suhe pole mingi tavaline inimese ja prilli suhe, vaid Hmmm Stuudio ja kliendi suhe. Oleme teinud Karlile nime uuenduse, graafilise facelifti, fotod, koduka, ühesõnaga täismahus brandingu, et siseneda universumi turule.

Selleks puhuks pildistasime ka prillikataloogi ja ronisin ise ka korra Keni kaamera ette, et kõik prillitüübid järgi proovida. Lemmikud on kindlapeale ümarad vormid – Oskar, Linda ja Wolfgang. Where’s Waldo?!

Mis Karli teistest puu-prillimeistritest aga eristab on see, et ta suhtub sellesse ettevalmistus protsessi hullumeelse täpsusega, arvestab teie nina laiust, kõrvade kaugust, silmade kuju ja mida kõike veel. Prille saab valida 7’est erinevast puidust ja 9’st erinevast raamist. Kogu raamide tootmisprotsess on loodud nii, et nad oleks ülikerged, ei sooniks, ei muunduks ilmastikuoludes, on käsitsi lihvitud õlitatud. Ja muidugi mul endal uhke tunne, et graafilise disainerina olen saanud kõige selle osaks.

Framed by Karl is an artisan eyewear craftsman and designer, for me he’s not just a good designer but also a client of our Hmmm Creative Studio. Meaning I’m part of the team that created his branding, photography, homepage and everything else needed to enter the global market.

That means we also shot the catalogue and I smoothly pushed away our beautiful models to try out some frames myself. My favorites are – Oskar, Linda and Wolfgang. Round shapes. Where’s Waldo?

What differs Karl from other wood-optical designers is that’s his stuff is exttremely custom and sort of couture in it’s proccess. He measures noses, ears, eye shapes head size. The frames are so light and polished a million times, so they don’t really give you a bulky wood feeling. There’s 7 different wood types and 9 different shapes. And of course I’m preeetty proud to play the art director and graphic designer part in his success story. So yeah, that’s me and Framed By Karl for you.
