KODA Stay making of

Lets talk about work a little. This year I’ve had the best projects of my life on my plate, maybe that’s why I got the Designer of The Year title at the local Design Awards, maybe not :D But one of the projects have been a tiny bit more special than the others because it was interior design! I’ve one interior competitions 2 times before, for my home in Uus-Maailm and my home in Rotermanni, but usually, I just help out myself and my friends. So you can imagine how thrilled I was to get a call from Ülar Mark asking to create interiors for KODA sustainable travel home hotels KODA Stay (KODA itself is created and designed by KODASEMA architects).

Unfortunately I can’t show you the final result just yet, but some of the elements are fixed so I’m happy to present an idea of using amazing local illustrators artworks – Prints by TM, Krõõt Kukkur & Eili Lepik (hopefully even more names in the future). Also creating a sleeping-space art of my own with dots.

You can now check out the ongoing work process in pictures, hopefully everything will be ready soon and I can not wait to spend the night in the crazy-happy-Koda-Stay of mine.

Huhh-huhh-huhh! Väga vabandan kõigi-sõprade-inimeste ees keda olen unarusse jätnud viimastel nädalatel, kuid käsil oli mitu nii megasuurt projekti, et põhimõtteliselt magasin-närvitsesin-töötasin nonstop. Üks nendest sai eile kauni finaali Tallinn Fashion Weekil ehk siis Xenia Joost REBELLIONAIRES publiku lemmik! Hõissa-hurra.

Mic drop. Kalli.

My oh my I am so sorry that I haven’t been in touch with so many friends and colleagues for the past few weeks, I just had some accidental awesome shit to do & it ate me alive. One of the projects is now launched and it’s REBELLIONAIRES by Xenia Joost, also won the Audience Favorite award at the Tallinn Fashion Week 2017 last night! Woop! Anyways for the starters, I was very happy to have designed illustrations and fabric patterns for this collection, but as lovely Xenia had some accidental important unfinished business in Vietnam, I took on the helping out part with creative directing and styling the collection video & show itself. it’s not an easy job I’ll tell ya, but the realization of how good everything turned out is slowly kicking in :)

REBELLIONAIRES, as you can see, is a youthful, cozy, soft, warm, unisex, unisize brand. Lovers of black colors will find their stuff and the pink gang too. I’d tell you more about everything, but as my firm Hmmm is nominated for 10 design awards that take place tonight, I have to go and stress somewhere else. Mic drop. Hugs.

Fashion short for an upcoming streetwear brand REBELLIONAIRES. Camera & production: Kris Süld. Style & creative direction: Helene Vetik. Models: SAGE management. Special thanks to Adidas Originals.

Original Boris Mäemets photography posters & postcards available at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design

First post after summer vacay and a strong kickoff to a new blogging season. It’s been a while! I have so many cool looks and photos to share from New York to Helsinki Fashion Week and of course Hiiumaa, but more important is the photography exhibition curated by Anne Vetik as I was honored to create graphic design for this one & the exhibition design itself is made by my friend Johan Tali & sound design by Sander Mölder.

Meaning since 12. August (a day after my birthday!) everybody is invited to the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design to have a look at behind the scenes Boris Mäemets photography for the local fashion magazines in the 60’s and 70’s. The museum is located in Lai 17 street Tallinn and the opening hours are Wed-Sun 11-18.

Love.
